As we walked through the city streets, we realised that the buildings had a magnificent unique composition. They all looked European style, and the city streets were formed in a Barcelona urban style. We talked with some locals that confirmed the apartments are all the same size, so, there is no exclusiveness of any kind. As well, there is no rent. The apartments are average city side, they have two rooms with living room, a bathroom and a kitchen. 

In another subject, the nights at Olinka are unique. It is like a mixture of Renaissance and Roman/Greek parties. Every single Friday of the month has its own theme of party. For example, the first Friday of the Month is Pompeii theme. The party starts at 10 pm and ends around the sunrise. The people here expressed their love for the thematic parties.

Another interesting thing is the castle that was built on the orders of Dr. Atl. This magnificent piece is inspired in the Versailles castle in France. The reason of the construction is to honour all the greatest minds that have touch this world. Every single room is dedicated to one great mind. The room is full of books, paintings or sculptures that the artist did or liked. For example, there is the Karl Marx’s room, that is filled with copies of his book The Capitaland drawings of a perfect socialist community with a gigantic portrait of Marx.

At the end of our visit, we had lunch in the best restaurant in town. It is amazing Mexican food with a mixture of Spanish food. We ate good tacos and good Serrano ham. Then, we left the island feeling more than complete. We completely approve their way of living and if you have the opportunity, go ahead. A new world is waiting for you. 

May 1959

It’s been a year since Olinka has been established as an independent city where artists and scientist all over the world come and start a new life based in their dreams and passions. The city stated that no update about its lifestyle should be published until everything is complete settle. Finally, last Saturday, Olinka opened its doors for journalist around the world to see with their own eyes the magic of the island. 

Our team embarked the journey to the island, and this is what we saw and learned:

With lots of wind and a warming sun hitting our heads, we did the ship trip that lasted around three hours. Our ship was full of reporters who mostly came from Europe countries like Germany and France. Two minutes before we arrived at the entrance of the island, there was a complete silence, the motor stopped, the waves were heavy enough to do a sound when they crashed with the ship. It was like a feeling of freedom, a feeling of no attachments to our civilisations, and then we could start hearing Olinka’s life. We heard city noises, but not like New York or London. It was like a warm calm noise. A life without normal worries.

The entrance was a big gold arc that has marked the rules and based of Olinka. It was written by Dr. Atl, and they explained that every person who wants to live here has to learn it. We arrived at the pier and left the ship; we were told that we only have half day to dig around and to write what we wanted. No pictures were allowed, but we could paint what we saw. They gave us a map of the city and told us to go our way.

The first place we went was the city centre, where trades are made between the citizens. Money is not a thing in Olinka because everyone is worth the same. But still, people have needs, so they used the old ways and trade. We saw people trading books or artwork for food. It was amazing how well organise it is. People don’t bribe or try to win more, they all agree with smiles and good small conversations. More to come in the next week article

May 1959

After two years of construction, the island Olinka is finally ready to receive its first group of 300 people who are moving, leaving all their past lives behind. This group of people is formed by painters, scientists, poets, intellectuals and writers mostly. 

These people were selected for the ideals and works, so Dr. Atl made public before he started to send the invitations. We know, from some sources near Dr. Atl’s team, that when it came the time to choose who was going to be allowed to go and start a new life in the sophisticate island, they sent invitations to the people who are artists or scientists and believe in the main ideas of Olinka.

After a few months, everyone who was invited, confirmed, and they had two weeks to pack everything they would need. Today, the first ship with this group sailed to Olinka. Some sources reported that the trip was for free. As well, they will not have to pay anything for the apartments.

It was reported that there will be no houses but only one palace in Olinka. It is only buildings with flats that are the same size, this is because one of the main targets is to delete the superiority of people with money. As well, it was reported that some high-class people tried to buy their invitation. But Dr. Atl was careful and caught these people, denying them access to an invitation.

There hasn’t been reported pictures of the buildings and the new city since its discovery. We are waiting for the new people to go, settle and report how is this dream new society. 

July, 1955

After a year of expeditions and recording of all the island, Dr. Atl finally got his permission to start building Olinka. Luckily for him, the government approved the creation of a new state. 

Even so, the Mexican government has put some conditions for the upcoming devolve of a new society. The whole idea of Olinka is to be a free state from any government, to have their own rules and don’t be run by a strictly organisation. More like a: «the people rule.»

Anyhow, they are asking that if Olinka wants to be an independent state, they have to be open to free trade, to give 25% of the tourism earning, and to be only by name part of the Mexican State. In exchange, the Mexican government will invest 40% of the money that will be used to build the city.

As well, the United Nations asked to respect the environment and don’t destroy some of the unique areas in the island. They found new flora that only grows in the island. As well, the volcanic team made sure the volcano is inactive.

Dr Atl reported that those conditions were fair and made total sense for the sake of the project. Now, we have to wait for the date of the first draft maps of how the island is going to be build. 

June, 1953

In the press conference, more details were revealed about the island Dr. Atl discovered some weeks ago. But the main question remains. Now that they found the island, what is next? 

That question was formulated many times by the journalists. When it was brought up, they avoided it. Mostly, they change the subject to talk about how the island is and how marvellous it could be to start a new society there.

Until the very end, Dr. Atl stood up and told the crowd the next sentences:

«We want to start the process of moving as soon as we can, but the government hasn’t given us permission yet. The problem is they have to do a check-up of the island to see all its content. Identify all the fauna and flora.»

In resume, Dr. Atl explain that the Mexican government, and some USA governmental institutions want to collect all the information about the life in the island first.

Apparently, just like Dr. Atl said, it is needful to see if there is even new species that aren’t in any other place. He made clear that when the expeditions are over, and the permission is granted, his team will start choosing the people who will help the construction of Olinka. 

May, 1952

Yesterday afternoon, the press release to announce the discovery of Olinka took place at Bellas Artes, Mexico City. Dr Atl and his team came back three days ago from the so called Olinka. 

As far was known, Dr Atl found a new island in the Pacific perfectly fit to create the new society for arts and sciences that he and his team had been looking for years.

In the press release, the questions were mainly about how the island is, what is it interesting about it, and which are the next steps.

The team was very direct about what they found. They let know that Olinka is an island that has been empty since it appeared. No civilisations items or clues were found at all. «It is a pure island,» David Alfaro Siqueiros a Mexican painter who is part of the team says. «It is so transparent, the river, the trees, the mountains. Everything looks like brand new. Nobody has ever touch it or try to destroy it.»

Dr. Atl explained that they found exactly what they were looking for. «We were looking for a place that hasn’t been touched by humans, like a virgin. And we found it. This means that we can finally create Olinka. It means the beginning of a new society build from the deadbeat old one.»

May, 1952

An island around the size of Honolulu, Hawaii with a big volcano in the middle will be the new home for selected scientists, architects and painters who want to have a free society environment. 

Dr. Atl and his team have reported more about the island they found. The official spokesman of Atl’s team had read a release that gives more details about this new island. He quoted:

The island is an oval form. It has a lot of green areas, and mountains sounding everything. The most impressive part is the big volcano near the west coast. 

These are some of the first details we have from this mysterious discovery. As well, we know that it is a kind of a jungle style with tropical flora.

The island was recently discovered around a week ago and the team is expected to come back next week with a press release giving all the details of this travel and what is next.
